The founding conference of the Russian Federation of Poker, representing 50 subjects of the Russian Federation, was held on November 18, 2006 in Moscow, in the club "Europe".
The tasks of the Federation are promotion and popularization of poker, organization of poker tournaments on the sport principle, approval of high ethical norms and standards, assistance to poker clubs in holding tournaments, maintenance of All-Russian rating of participants, training of poker clubs' personnel, organization of poker schools, support of young talents, search for sponsors and many other things.
The immediate goal of the Federation is to develop the necessary regulatory documents and to include poker in the Unified Classifier of Sports of Russia.
