Alexander Kravchenko of Moscow entered the record books when he became the first Russian citizen to ever take home a World Series of Poker gold bracelet. This event took place at the 2007 WSOP, in the $1,500 Omaha Eight-or-Better tournament.

WSOP 2007 turned out to be very significant for Kravchenko. After the first bracelet, he went for the second. He didn't win it, but fourth place in the Main Event for $1.85 million is respectable.
He entered the record books for the second time when he officially surpassed Kirill Gerasimov and was named the luckiest Russian player to date to win the largest amount in poker.
